Who is ?
is an independent diagnostic and consultative pathology laboratory located in East Setauket and Southampton, New York. We have served the community for almost 20 years. Our pathologists are certified by the American Board of Pathology with multiple area of sub-specialties and are active members of the community.
What is a pathologist?
A pathologist is a medically educated physician who has been trained to interpret and diagnose tissue specimens to determine if cancer is present.
What services does provide?
provides pathology testing to physicians, hospital laboratories, endoscopy centers and surgery centers.
How are Medicare claims processed?
will process a claim for Medicare on your behalf. If you have secondary or tertiary insurance, we will file a claim with them as well.
What about other insurance plans?
has contracts with many insurance companies. We will file a claim on your behalf.
How long does it take tissue biopsies to be processed and read by the pathologist?
The usual time it takes for a slide to be read by pathologist is 24-48 hours. The doctor will than read the report prepared by the pathologist and discuss those findings with the patient. Depending on circumstances, this can take up to 3-5 days or longer if necessary.
Can I receive a copy of my pathology report?
Due to lack of identification via telephone, we are not allowed to discuss patient information over the phone or fax reports. If you choose to personally visit the lab, we will provide you with the report with current identification. Your physician's office is the only other authorized personnel to discuss your diagnosis with you.
How can my pathology report be sent to another physician?
Please contact and we will submit a request on your behalf that a report be sent to the office requested.
